The start of it all

My life or history includes a tiny little track, perhaps like a snail trail,  through the history of student life in Manchester in the 70s. Before committing anything to paper or web i have decided to blog.

Why?

I was not alone...

Others who were there may have a different recolection or better recal.

Some of the thiongs I remember..

The old street with 'On The Eighth Day' and other hippy or trendy shops which was demolished to make way for the Arndale Centre. talking of shops - Aflecks palace.

Our dog, TCS Fang, which went everywhere with me without a lead and even appeared live on stage with Alvin Lee and Ten Years After

Gigs at Salford and Manchester Union which I went to every weekend with additional outings to the Free Trade Hall, Stoneground, Belle Vue, Band on the Wall,  with after pub closing visits to Rafters/Jillys, Twisted Wheel club.

Late night curries in the Plaza Cafe, sometimes followed by later tea and hot buttered toast in the all night Greek cafe waiting for the morning bus.

So a few details to fill in. If you see this then help me. I will also try and link to all the very useful Wikki and other sites that help.

  1. Thank you, it is just a mind dump while I still have a mind! If you were there at any time let me know because I don't immediately recall everything!!!
